Serves 1
Ingredients
- 3-4 generous tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
- 3 generous tbsp raw cacao
- 1 tbsp coconut nectar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp carob powder
- 1/3 tsp chilli powder (do 1/2 if you like it really hot)
Instructions
- Prepare a bain marie (a pot with boling water and a heat resistant bowl on top).
- Put in the coconut oil and slowly heat it up. Once the coconut oil has liquefied, stir in the cacao powder.
- Once evenly mixed, stir in the coconut nectar, vanilla extract, carob and chilli. Give it all a really good mix.
- Grab a small dish with a little depth, similar to the one in the picture. Put some baking paper in the dish and pour in the chocolate mix.
- With the back of a spoon or a knife, even the chocolate mix out.
- Refrigerate over night.
- Once ready, chop it up roughly with a knife to give it that rustic look and store it in a glass jar in the fridge.
- If you want to add nuts, coconut chips or dried fruits such as goji berries, this can be done with great visual effect after you have smoothed the chocolate out on its dish. Roughly chop your chosen topping, sprinkle it on top of the chocolate and gently press it down.
Notes
- Before refrigerating the chocolate, sprinkle some sea salt flakes on top.
